About Me:
Hello Pirate Families! Many of you know me as a 4th grade teacher from Linderman Elementary School. I taught there for 17 years before making the move to PHS. I am beyond excited to be starting a new position this year as the Polson High School Librarian. This year will be my 24th year in education! I am so excited to be here and look forward to seeing my former students and meeting new people.
I grew up in a little town in north central Idaho called Orofino. My high school is famous for its unique mascot -The Maniacs. Born and raised there, I grew up loving all things outdoors: swimming in the lake and river, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, etc. I find living in Montana gives me the same wonderful opportunities, and I am so thankful that I have made my home here.
So how did I end up in Polson? Well, I took my very first teaching job in Las Vegas, Nevada. My intention was to stay for one year and then move back to Idaho. However, I found that I loved the desert, I made wonderful friends, and enjoyed my time there, so I stayed. I ended up getting married and starting a family. However, after several years, we were ready to move closer to home. My husband grew up in Darby, Montana, so we decided to move somewhere close to both of our families. We had friends in the Mission Valley and before we knew it, we both accepted teaching jobs and made the move back home. Seventeen years later, we are still here!
Besides school, I love tennis, camping, gardening, floating the river, going to Griz games, and hanging out with my family. My husband, Mike, and I have three kids, Berkley, Torrin, and Ruger.
If I am not out and about cheering on the Polson Pirates, you can find me in the PHS library. Please feel free to come on in and say hi! This year, we will be hosting several fun events and activities in the library, so stay tuned! Go Pirates!
