History

Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation founded in 2002, is a locally operated and supported, non-profit tax- exempt scholarship foundation, established to provide Polson High School graduates with scholarships and financial encouragement. Our goal is to raise funds and provide financial support to Polson High School graduates. An all-volunteer team operates our organization. We have no overhead and so all monies go for scholarships. Scholarships for high school seniors are $500 we match that amount to provide a $1,000 scholarship. This year, for college students we will match $500 monies up to a $2,000 scholarship. Polson Scholarship and Education Foundation is the only community-based organization that raises money exclusively for Polson High School scholars. Scholarships can be for two-year, four-year, vocational and technical education. Scholarships are also presented to students currently enrolled in college because the organization feels continuing students need money for college.

We raise money by:

  •  working with The Lake City Open Golf Tournament each May thanks to Cameron Milton
  •  through fundraisers
  •  donations from individuals.

Some people use our organization to set up scholarships in memory of individuals without having to set up a scholarship fund on their own.

All donations are tax deductible.  Our tax ID# is 46-4291123.

For the many past years contributions from donors and fund raising has allowed us to provide much needed money for scholarships.  Following are some of the “thank you notes” we receive from students who have been awarded scholarships.

"Thank you so much for your support of my journey into college. It is you and people like you that are making this possible for me. Financing college was a worry of mine before generous people like you were willing to help me. I cannot wait to see where college will take me and what adventure I may go on. This is a very special experience for me and I am happy that I have people as my support. Thank you for allowing me to achieve this." -KLS

"Thank you so much for your continued support of my higher education. Your help and consideration makes college more affordable as well as assures me of the community support. All this means so much to me, thank you for a wonderful opportunity."  -MM

"Thank you for awarding me the Jessie Clemans Memorial Scholarship. I am excited to start a career in healthcare at the University of Montana. I appreciate the dedication Jessie Clemans demonstrated to our community as a nurse and also a graduate of Polson High School.  This scholarship will help me to attend school and start my life with less debt."  -AH
