Lady Pirate trio accentuated with athletic accolades
by John Heglie
Three Lady Pirate soccer players were acknowledged for their proficiency on the pitch this past season. Goalkeeper extraordinaire Ellie Dupuis was named to the second-team on account of the her exception defense of crucial real estate, repelling when not smothering a myriad of shots on the frame of the goal to keep her Pirate mates within striking range of contests.
Likewise conferred with second-team recognition was midfielder Myranda Heiser, who netted a half dozen goals this season and tallied with her toes in each of her four seasons playing for the Lady Pirates.
Receiving honorable mention is freshman midfielder London Davis, who led the Lady Pirates in scoring that included a hat trick (3goals) in am early season nonconference contest.

Vals victimize Lady Pirates for Battle of the Bays sweep
by John Heglie
At Bigfork for round two of the annual Battle of the Bays on Flathead Lake, the visiting Lady Pirates and the host Valkyries played a tight contest. Polson held an edge at the half on the strength of a pair of Amelia Stene goals. The Lady Pirates scored first off an assist by London Davis. After Bigfork tied the contest at one apiece off a putback after an Ellie Dupuis block save of the preceding attempt, Stene struck again off a delectable dish from Myranda Heiser to take a 2-1 advantage at intermission. Bigfork would net the equalizer early in the second half to even the match at two apiece.
Thereafter, the contest remained tied for over half of the second half before Braeden Gunlock booted the game winner into the back of the net with five minutes and change remaining on the clock.

Dogs have their day, capsize Pirates
by John Heglie
At the Polson Sports Complex for Pink Out cancer awareness, the league leading visiting Lady Bulldogs of Whitefish notched a trio of first half goals in close succession that would provide the margin of victory in the regular schedule finale. Despite the lopsided disparity in shot opportunities taken on frame, the Lady Pirates had some chances. Myranda Heiser launched twice within the first five minutes of play, but converging defenders forced her to unload further out than optimal range. London Davis opened the second half with a decent opportunity, again intercepted by the Whitefish goalkeeper. Midfielder Mady Luikart fired on target twice. The first was a free kick that the northerly breeze tempered. The other was a penalty kick opportunity issued on account of too much time taken by the keeper to put the ball back into play. While the kick was on frame, the wall of two Whitefish defenders were able to deflect it. There were also a pair of chances that frosh forward Amelia Stene had late in the game., but both glanced with when she unloaded with defenders dogging her heels.
After the conclusion of the contest, the contingent of seniors that included keeper Ellie Dupuis, mid Myranda Heiser, mid Adamary Guerrero and defender Alex Dupuis walked the pitch to commemorate the last time they would wear their Pirate kits in prep competition. Fellow senior forward Felicity Mihara watched from the sideline due to a leg injury sustained earlier in the season.
