Matt School District #64 was drawn September 1, 1911.

School district description: Commencing at the northeast corner of Section 21, Township 24, Range 22 and extending south to the southeast corner of Section 28, same township and range; thence west to the southwest corner of Section 25, Township 24, Range 23; thence north to the northwest corner of Section 24, same township and range; thence east to the place of beginning.

Annexed to Matt district from Battle Butte School District No. 40, September 10, 1912:

south half of the southeast quarter of Section 23, Township 24, Range 23.

Annexed to Matt district by county superintendent:

Sections 31, 32, and 33 in Township 24, Range 22; also Sections 36, Township 24, Range 23, being land not previously included in any school district.

Annexed to Matt district from Elmo School District No. 22, February 28, 1914:

northwest quarter of southwest quarter and the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 27, Township 24, Range 22.

Matt District #64 was annexed to Elmo School District No. 22 in 1921.

LEGAL SUMMARY FOR ELMO SCHOOL DISTRICT #22

Elmo School District #22 began September 1, 1911. Teachers are listed in Flathead County Register for 1911. The first record of an elected Trustee was April 1910. Became part of Lake County in 1923.

Elmo District description: Commencing on the shore of Flathead Lake in Township 24 N, Range 21 W, where the section lines of 16 and 17 intersect the lake shore; thence north one mile to the northeast corner of Section 17; thence running west one mile; thence north one mile; thence west four miles to the northwest corner of Section 10, Township 24, Range 22; thence running south five miles to the southwest corner of Section 34; thence running east four miles to the southwest corner of Section 31, Township 24 N, Range 21 W; thence running north until the section line intersects Flathead Lake; thence following the shores of Flathead Lake to the place of beginning.

Boundary transfer, February 28, 1914 to District No. 64 (Matt): northwest quarter of southwest quarter and the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 27, Township 24,

Letter November 17, 1975: State Superintendent approves the district boundary of Polson High School District No. 23 including this district.
