About Me

Background

I graduated from Billings Senior HS in 1981 and attended Stanford University where I received my undergraduate degree in Mathematical & Computational Sciences in 1985. I received an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 1990, and I am currently pursuing my M.A. in Education at Montana State University - Bozeman.

Prior to beginning my teaching career in 2007, I spent 20 years in the business world. I was a partner with the global consulting company Accenture in their Utilities practice.  I specialized in competitive wholesale electricity markets and worked for clients in Australia, Europe, Asia and throughout North America. During graduate school, I worked at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and, prior to that, worked for an integrated circuit design company in the Silicon Valley.

At Polson HS, I teach Math 1 (Algebra), Math 2 (Geometry) and Transition Math. I am also an assistant coach for the Speech and Drama team. I enjoy most outdoor activities, all sports, the internet and good food. During the summer, my wife and I spend most of our time in Red Lodge with friends and family...see Summer Photos 2008 and Summer Photos 2009.
